Our family loves the summer because we get to spend more quality time together. I have loved every vacation and every adventure I have taken with them. One of my favorite summer vacation memories is when we were hiking on the Highline Trail in Glacier National Park and we saw a black bear eating huckleberries. It was enjoying the berries and didn't care that we were there, especially as it crossed the trail behind us to get more berries on the other side of the trail. It was so amazing to see a beautiful black bear in its natural habitat.

Traveling is important for many reasons. It gives families quality time together to experience new things and make lifelong memories. It allows us to get out of our comfort zone and to be adventurous. I love seeing new things, experiencing new cultures, trying new food, and being adventurous with my family. The distance someone travels does not dictate the memories they will make; some of the best memories we have as a family are from our Texas get-aways.

Norway is the furthest place we have traveled and we are blessed to have good friends that live there so we have been once during the summer and once during the winter. There are still so many places to see and explore! It is hard to choose just three places to visit. At this time, I would love the opportunity to travel to the following destinations: Australia to visit friends who live there and to see all of the animals, Japan to experience the culture and to hike up Mt. Fuji, and Austria for the history and culture.

There are many things that I take on vacations (I have been accused of overpacking just a few times). The top 5 things that I take with me each time are my camera, a pair of comfortable shoes, a good book, hair clip/tie, and of course a toothbrush. Reading is something I really enjoy doing and I take advantage of my time on an airplane to read.

A funny memory I have of traveling with my family is when we went to Lost Maples State Park for a long weekend a few years ago. When we stopped for gas on the way there, my daughter's pogo stick fell out of the car; it was the pogo stick she snuck into the car while we were loading up.

Our office is putting out our new Patient Drawing and it is a Back to School Basket with goodies and a gift card. We can’t wait to see you in our office again soon!
